ASSESSING CITY READINESS FOR THE SMART CITY STATUS; TOWARDS SMART CITIES IN UGANDA
Cities that are engines of growth of a nation, are important to National Development. Under funding from the Government of Uganda, to support high impact Research and Innovations that informs national development priorities, a team of researchers from Makerere University is undertaking research on cities, assessing their readiness for the Smart City Status that once implemented would see them improve their finances, infrastructure and service delivery. The findings will help the Cities to work towards becoming smart Cities complementing the approaches currently being used to enhance service delivery.
